Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about browsing and unlocking homes on BuyerHQ.
What is BuyerHQ?
BuyerHQ is a free matching service for Victorian buyers. We source off-market and pre-market opportunities through selling agents and vendors. After you join, you browse them on a map. Suburb, key details, and price (where the agent has provided one) are visible for free. Bronze listings unlock the moment you join. Street address and photos on Silver and Gold homes unlock when you request access and we approve it.
Is BuyerHQ free?
Yes. Joining and browsing are free for Victorian buyers. BuyerHQ does not charge an engagement fee, subscription, or success fee. If you later engage an independent buyer's agent we introduce, any fees they charge are between you and that agent.
Is BuyerHQ a buyer's agent or real estate agency?
No. BuyerHQ is not a buyer's agent and not a real estate agency. We match you with opportunities and put you in touch with the selling agent. If you want representation, you can opt in for an introduction to an independent buyer's agent.
Can BuyerHQ introduce me to an independent buyer's agent?
Yes, if you want one. At signup you can opt in for a free introduction to an independent buyer's agent. It is optional and separate from browsing and unlocking homes on BuyerHQ.
Why aren't street addresses shown publicly?
Agents and vendors trust BuyerHQ not to publish street addresses publicly. We show suburb, key details, and price (where provided) on the map. Bronze listings unlock as soon as you join. Silver and Gold street addresses and photos unlock when you request access and we approve it.
How does the unlock process work?
It depends on the tier. Green listings are public - no account needed. Bronze listings unlock automatically the moment you sign up, with nothing to request. Silver and Gold listings each need their own "Request Unlock" - once approved, the street address, photos, and selling agent details appear on that property. We aim to approve requests as soon as possible; it can sometimes take up to 24 hours, depending on volume and the listing.
What is the difference between off-market and pre-market?
Off-market homes never go to a public campaign. Pre-market homes will be advertised eventually, but we hear about them before they hit realestate.com.au or Domain.
Why does a listing say "Contact agent" instead of a price?
Not every seller has given us a guide price yet. "Contact agent" simply means the agent hasn't provided one - it isn't tied to your access tier. Reach out via the listing for current pricing.
How quickly will I see listings?
Immediately for Green and Bronze - Green is public and Bronze unlocks the moment you join. Silver and Gold need an unlock request; we approve these as soon as we can, though it can sometimes take up to 24 hours depending on volume and the listing.
What if I'm not approved?
If a Silver or Gold unlock request isn't approved, we'll tell you why - usually a mismatch between your brief and the listing. You can update your brief and try again anytime.
How are properties selected?
Sourced through relationships with selling agents and private vendors across Victoria, then shown to buyers whose brief fits.
