Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how BuyerHQ works. Free matching for Victorian buyers. Not an agency.
What is BuyerHQ?
BuyerHQ is a free sourcing and matching service for Victorian buyers. We source off-market and pre-market opportunities offline through selling agents and vendors. After you join, you browse them on a map. Suburb and key property details are visible free. Street address, price, and photos unlock when you request access on a specific home and we approve it. We also share selling-agent details as appropriate once a property is unlocked.
Is BuyerHQ free?
Yes. Joining and browsing are free for Victorian buyers. BuyerHQ does not charge an engagement fee, subscription, or success fee. If you later engage an independent buyer's agent we introduce, any fees they charge are between you and that agent, not BuyerHQ.
Is BuyerHQ a buyer's agent or real estate agency?
No. BuyerHQ is not a buyer's agent and not a real estate agency. We do not sell property ourselves and we do not act as your advocate in a purchase. We match you with opportunities and put you in touch with the selling agent. If you want representation, you can opt in for an introduction to an independent buyer's agent.
Can BuyerHQ introduce me to a buyer's agent?
Yes, if you want one. At signup you can opt in for a free introduction to an independent buyer's agent. It is entirely optional and separate from browsing and unlocking homes on BuyerHQ. Any engagement or fees with that agent sit outside BuyerHQ.
Why aren't street addresses shown publicly?
Agents and vendors trust BuyerHQ not to publish street addresses publicly. That is why we show suburb and key details on the map, but keep address, price, and photos locked until you request an unlock and we approve it.
How does the unlock process work?
When you find a home you like on the map, request an unlock. We review your request and, if approved, the street address, price, and photos appear on that property, along with selling-agent details as appropriate. Each unlock is per property. We do this to protect the trust agents and vendors place in us.
What is the difference between off-market and pre-market?
Off-market homes never go to a public campaign. They are sold quietly through trusted relationships. Pre-market homes will be advertised eventually, but we hear about them before they hit realestate.com.au or Domain.
How quickly will I see listings?
Immediately. As soon as you join, you can browse the full map for free. Unlock requests on individual listings are usually approved within 24 hours.
What if I'm not approved?
If an unlock request isn't approved, we'll tell you why — usually a mismatch between your brief and the listing. You can update your brief and try again anytime.
How are properties selected?
Sourced offline through relationships with selling agents and private vendors across Victoria, then shown to registered buyers whose brief fits.
